Our Mission to Help Mentally Disabled Children in Jhok

Join us in making a difference. Our mission is to uplift and empower vulnerable and disabled children in Pakistan by providing access to education, care, and the support they need to thrive. We work to create inclusive communities where every child is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our Story

The Jhok Aid Project, founded in 2002 as a UK-registered charity, is dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children in rural Pakistan. The charity began after Chair Mushtaq Lasharie was deeply moved by the stories of children with mental disabilities experiencing severe neglect, trauma, and stigma across India and Pakistan. This sparked a mission to provide specialised education, therapeutic support, family training, and financial assistance to children who had long been overlooked.

Over the past two decades, the organisation has expanded its work to support orphaned and disabled young people by offering access to education, essential learning resources, and opportunities that help them break the cycle of poverty. Our efforts aim to raise awareness of educational inequality and promote lasting, community-driven change.

Today, the Jhok Aid Project is entering a new chapter with the development of a residential centre for 50 children. This facility will offer specialised care, life-skills training, and a safe, nurturing environment where each child can grow with dignity, confidence, and hope.

Our 2026 Project: Jhok Aid Center

The Jhok Aid Centre provides specialised care, education, and life-skills training for vulnerable children in rural Pakistan, offering a safe and nurturing environment where they can grow with dignity and confidence. Our centre is designed to support those with mental disabilities, orphans, and children facing extreme hardship, giving them the opportunities they deserve.

Our mission is to empower vulnerable children by providing compassionate care, inclusive education, and the support they need to overcome stigma, build independence, and lead meaningful lives.

The Jhok Aid Centre features safe residential accommodation, specialised classrooms, and therapy spaces designed to meet the needs of vulnerable children. Our facilities provide a supportive environment where children can learn, develop life skills, and receive the care essential for their wellbeing and growth.
